Month 11 · one-glance sheet

Month 11

Standing alone for a second or two, and maybe a real word. The first birthday is close enough to feel it.

Just these three, this week

  1. 1
Three meals plus one or two snacks
    Alongside breastmilk or formula.
  2. 2
    Back sleeping
Firm flat surface, nothing loose in the crib — unchanged from month one.
  3. 3
A stable step stool or low
Furniture piece for practicing pulling up and standing.

Milk becomes one part of a varied diet rather than the main event. Water alongside meals from here on.

Trust the worry. None of this is an overreaction.

  • A fever of 104°F (40°C) or higher at any age, or any fever in a baby who seems unusually weak or hard to wake.
  • Signs of dehydration: dry mouth, no tears when crying, noticeably fewer wet diapers, or a sunken soft spot.
  • Choking, gagging, or persistent coughing during or right after a meal.
  • A limp, a favored arm or leg, or refusing to bear weight after a fall or bump.
  • No babbling, no response to their name, or no interest in pointing or reaching — worth flagging at the next visit, not waiting on.
