Month 10

Cruising along the furniture and getting opinions. Both are new, and both are exactly on track.

Just these three, this week

  1. 1
Three meals a day plus milk feeds
With more finger foods and fewer purees.
  2. 2
    Back sleeping
Firm flat surface, in a crib or safe sleep space, with nothing loose inside it.
  3. 3
Furniture anchored to the wall now
That pulling-up is a daily event.

How much milk

2–3
milk feeds
+ solids
3x / day
~4–5 h
typical gap

Milk becomes one part of a varied diet rather than the main event. Water alongside meals from here on.

Draft figures for this age, pending clinical review.

Trust the worry. None of this is an overreaction.

  • A fever with a stiff neck, a rash that doesn’t fade when pressed, or unusual drowsiness that’s hard to rouse from.
  • Signs of dehydration: dry mouth, no tears when crying, noticeably fewer wet diapers, or a sunken soft spot.
  • Choking, gagging, or persistent coughing during or right after a meal.
  • A fall that leads to loss of consciousness, vomiting, or not using an arm or leg normally afterward.
  • No attempt to bear weight on their legs, or no pulling to stand, by this point — worth a specific mention at the next visit.
